PARABOOT
Rooted in the foothills of the French Alps, Paraboot stands as a rare embodiment of craftsmanship, rugged purpose and enduring style. Founded in 1908 by Rémy‑Alexis Richard in the village of Izeaux, Isère, the company emerged from a rich local tradition of shoemaking and quickly charted its own course.

Paraboot’s origins date back to 1908, when founder Rémy Richard-Ponvert returned from the United States inspired by the robust rubber-soled footwear he encountered there. Bringing this innovation back to France, he pioneered the idea of pairing Norwegian-welted leather uppers with natural rubber soles—giving birth to a new kind of shoe: one as sturdy and weatherproof as it was refined.
This pioneering vision shaped Paraboot’s philosophy: to create footwear that supports everyday life with reliability, comfort, and unmistakable French character.
